Making delicious chocolates and truffles for almost 150 years , Charbonnel et Walker has a rich heritage and enviable client list. Many of their chocolates are still made by hand to this day and to the traditional recipes of Madame Charbonnel.
Today, Charbonnel et Walker chocolates and truffles remain as popular as ever and are beautifully packaged in hand made boxes, finished with satin ribbons.
The Challenge
Increased sales, including both domestic and international orders, through the eCommerce store required Charbonnel et Walker to adopt new fulfilment processes. This resulted in a requirement for a multi-carrier approach to fulfilment, to both provide a comprehensive global delivery service and also a number of delivery options at checkout based on product choice and volume.
The requirement to generate shipping labels and customs documentation from multiple carriers needed a one stop solution and to seamlessly integrate order fulfilment operations at multiple locations.
Manual data entry into multiple carrier portals resulted in a huge time overhead for staff members. A fragmented tracking system also resulted in further time requirement from fulfilment staff.
The Solution
Shipmate worked with Charbonnel et Walker to help connect their online store to multiple carriers using our Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce. This removed the need for manual data entry and, utilising our powerful routing rules, resulted in the correct carrier and service being chosen automatically for any given shipment.
Our Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce provides workflow options for managing parcel information from individual or bulk orders, resulting in fewer clicks. Single and batch printing of shipping labels created huge time savings allowing staff to print shipping labels faster and focus on higher value tasks.
As Shipmate has the ability to allocate shipments to different fulfilment locations, specific product types are now despatched from specified centres.
The Result
Since adopting Shipmate, Charbonnel et Walker have reduced time-to-despatch, removed errors due to manual data entry all whilst reducing support queries.
Carrier management has been unified, new delivery services can be added in minutes rather than days, and shipping labels are now being printed in a fraction of the time, saving hours a day.
