Intro
Incorporatewear is a leading provider of corporate uniform and workwear, supplying to major brands including Virgin Atlantic, NatWest and Marks & Spencer.
Operating for over 25 years, Incorporatewear is now part of Workwear Uniform Group, an amalgamation of several key industry players who together achieve a turnover in excess of £100 million annually.
While contracting with their customers on a B2B basis, Incorporatewear’s despatch process follows a typical high volume clothing retailer Direct-to-Consumer model, with uniforms despatched directly to employees or to the outlets they work at, on-demand according to need.
The Challenge
Incorporatewear required a new API-based shipping integration platform to integrate with their new ERP system as part of a multi-million pound investment in new fulfilment technologies following the merger of businesses to form Workwear Uniform Group.
A new shipping automation platform was needed to help the rapidly expanding business to remain nimble in response to industry changes, particularly following Brexit, allowing the company to maintain its exemplary service levels while focusing efforts on the rollout of its new warehouse facilities.
The Solution
Working alongside Incorporatewear’s systems integration partner and their developers, we collaborated in connecting their Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP system to Shipmate via our Shipping API to generate shipping labels and return tracking information.
A sandbox environment with a mirrored configuration allows the Incorporatewear operations team and their partners to develop integrations, model shipping scenarios and test configurations prior to release to the highly automated warehouse facility.
The Result
Shipmate is now a key component of the company’s despatch workflow, integrated with Dynamics 365 Business Central and working in conjunction with the highly automated warehouse, including a robotic pick and pack system. Thousands of uniforms make their way to employees of well-regarded brands on a daily basis.
The company continues to expand and will soon be adding a warehouse in Europe – a project that Shipmate will be assisting with to streamline the company’s global despatch operations.
